ESPS Soda Fire Workshop with instructor Scott Proctor
3 part workshop

This is a workshop for those of you that have a home studio, or work in a community studio, and would like to explore high fire gas reduction Soda Firing. Current ESPS students may take workshop at a discount.
This workshop will consist of 3 in studio workshops at ESPS to take place on Saturday nights from 6-9:30.
1st Saturday February 22nd 6-9:00pm. The first in studio session will be a general talk about the soda firing process including-
The kiln, firing process, specific clays, forms that lend themselves to soda firing, glazes/slips for soda and application techniques. All pieces must be dropped off for bisque firing by March 15th unless you plan to bisque fire in your home studio kiln.
2nd Saturday March 22nd 6-9:30pm. The second studio session at ESPS will be a glaze workshop where we glaze and wad all of the pieces you made at your home studio. All glazes and materials will be provided.
3rd Saturday March 29th 6-9:30pm. The third studio session we will load the kiln and talk about all considerations made with loading, spraying soda, and firing.
Students will be able to make and fire 10-15 pieces depending on size.
The cost for this workshop is $325 and limited to 15 people. We need at least 10 for the workshop to not be canceled. In the case of a cancelation all participants will be fully refunded.
