6 Week Intermediate Hand Building/Wheel - Instructor- Juliana Dumas- Saturdays 10-1pm
Every Saturday 10:00am - 1:00pm,
This six week session includes one three hour class a week. Every Saturday morning 10:00am-1:00pm, and open studio hours throughout the week.
This is a project-based class for those who are experienced with hand building and wheel throwing techniques, and are using these techniques intuitively. Juliana will teach this class as a mentors and guide for students to see their ideas come to life.
This independent-study style class provides opportunities for artists to dive deep into their own practice, while being inspired by the mentors and other artists in the room. Juliana will provide suggestions, offer critiques, feedback, and inspiration for artists. They will work with students individually to spark ideas and help you expand your skills.
Demonstrations of specific techniques will be given on case-by-case basis and will be tailored for individual students’ needs.
In addition to the weekly class, this six week session includes 6 hours of open studio (two open studio shifts), and 3 hours of glazing (one glazing shift) a week, all by reservation. The open studio hours are meant to provide you time to practice the skills you learn in class, not for receiving demonstration.
Each class will have up to ten students plus the instructors.
The price includes all of the necessary tools, glazes, and firing fees. All students will purchase their own clay from Armadillo Clay Supply (right next door to us) or our custom stoneware from us.
Once registered, you will receive an email with more details regarding your upcoming pottery class at East Side Pot Shop. We look forward to working with you!
